St. Joseph Aquatics (SJA) swim team is a 40+ year old coach-led, non-profit organization.   We offer a guided swim program for children, ages 5 through 18,  with skill levels ranging from the beginner swimmer who is just becoming comfortable swimming the length of the pool to the skilled competitor, focusing on continuous improvement.

 

For swimmers new to SJA and/or competitive swimming,   SJA

·      provides a welcoming team-based environment where coaches and peers encourage positive   attitudes, team work and personal growth.

·      offers an opportunity to learn about and participate in competitive swim meets at your own pace.

·      includes over 80 kids (2009/10 season) and flexibility in practice schedules.

 

For experienced swimmers, SJA

·       has a proven record of success in developing great swimmers:

   •  SJA was conference champions in 2008 and 2009.

  •  SJA was runner-up for 2010 conference,  with roughly half the swimmers of the winning team.

  •  22 swimmers achieved JO (Junior Olympic) qualifying times in 84 events in 2010.

  •  10 swimmers achieved State qualifying times in 39 events in 2010.

·      provides focused instruction 5 days per week by experienced and dedicated coaches.

·      gives competitive swimmers an opportunity to compete in 1-2 USA invitational swim meets per month, as a member of the USA Swimming organization.

 

SJA is a member of USA Swimming, Michigan Swimming, and now the South Central Swim League.
